Rachel Goodchild | Creating Pattern
At the heart of this pattern showcase lies the essence of my old family home. Cornwallis is a repository of memories and the echoes of a cherished past. Picture a large Georgian house, standing proud and timeless, echoing with the footsteps of my childhood. In its rooms, antique furniture weaves a tapestry of history, each piece carrying whispers from another era.
Cornwallis has become a deliberate nod to the elegance that defined the family home that I grew up in - each room adorned with period wallpapers. The repetition of simple motif shapes in the pattern mirrors the rhythmic cadence of my life within those walls—a steady beat that accompanied the laughter, the shared meals, and the quiet moments of reflection. The motifs, like old friends, reappear in a dance of continuity, creating a visual harmony that mirrors the comforting predictability of home.
For me, Cornwallis is a journey down the crescent of nostalgia. it's a reflection of the love, care, and unique character that adorned my family home whilst growing up. The intricate threads of family, love, and the timeless beauty of one's home.
